Restore file permission in Mac OS X

Recently I have some trouble with my working environment in Mac. I tried several suggestions that I found in google which some of them also include tweaking file pemissions.

Then I did a stupidity to change the permission of /etc folder and everything inside. There might be thousands of files inside and it will be easier to reinstall the system than fixing it.

But in OS X there is a tool to restore the file permission that is the disk utility. Just open disk utility choose the disk, and click Repair Disk Permission. That’s all. Wait for some moments as it will take times depend on the amount of files need to be fixed.
